Gabby Brezovsky Taylor Swift's Genuine Art

In my research paper I discussed Tolstoy’s view on art and his emphasis on the importance of sincerity in art. In Tolstoy’s view those who earn livings from producing art, are not genuine artists. In my paper I explored the art of Taylor Swift, who I consider to be a true artist. She successfully communicates her feelings through her art in a way that is relatable to all people.
Before the release of her third album in 2010 Swift said; “I’ve had a lot of insanely crazy, unexpected, wonderful, magical things happen to me in the last two years. And a lot of them people saw me go through. But a lot of the things that I’ve gone through, nobody knows about. And I’m writing about all those things on this album” (E! True Hollywood Story, 2010). Taylor Swift’s art is based on her experiences. She is a true artist because she writes about real thing that have happened to her, and her emotional responses to those life events.
