“Through our senses the world appears. Through our reactions we create delusions. Without reactions the world becomes clear.”
According to the Buddha’s Little Instruction Book, our reactions dilute the clarity of the world. It means that our individual perceptions take us away from the truth, the greater understanding that is all around us. In order to connect with that greater truth, we need to stop our reactions from clouding our view. I think the Buddha is saying that the truth of the world is perfect before we try to react or interpret it. It takes away from the greater understanding of everyone. I guess that’s why meditation is such a large point in Buddhism because you try and stop the judgments and just listen to your senses.
