Brandon Webster "Van Der Leeuw"

-Drama
pg. 78 "Drama can do without words and without music but never without movement."

In order to have drama, you don't necessarily need music or speech but you do need movement. Without this movement there can be no drama. Drama is more than just rhythmic movement. It consists of a leader and someone to counteract the leaders movement. If speech arises from the rhythm of the music then that would enhance the drama but not define it. A figure which is an example of pure drama can be the pantomime. Pantomimes expressions are all movement and no sounds. There expressions are solely created through the actions of their body. In totality you find that dance and drama are one.
