John Scott- Parables

I have been doing a lot of praying and seeking God lately. This class has helped me to rediscover and discover God in a new way. Recently, I have been frustrated with the way God enacted his incarnation of Jesus. Why did Jesus only have a public ministry of three years and why was he so ambiguous with his lessons and teachings? Jesus could have said what he wanted to us for salvation in easy clear terms that were easy to understand regardless of time and space. Instead he spoke in obscure parables. It bothers me to no end as to why he did this. As I have been doing this class I really that God is not speaking these parables arbitrarily but is doing it with intention. In fact, the Bible is a work of Art in itself. It is not trying to be anything else. It is therefore trying to connect us with the divine and with the will of God. Because everyone views things differently, God is using art to connect us to himself. He wants all men to be saved. He uses his word to relate to as many men as he can. I am too simple in my interpretation of things because I choose to view the Bible as a document only and not a work of Art created by God who is infinite in wisdom and love.
