The novel, Eat, Pray, Love by Elizabeth Gilbert, Liz is a young adult traveling around the world in search of her own identity. For years, she has been influenced by other people and her cozy surroundings in New Jersey. She leaves everything behind and travels to Rome, India and Indonesia. She is in search for something bigger than herself: pleasure in Italy, devotion in India, and devotion in Bali.
The thing that I enjoyed most about this book is the idea that the plot of the story is based on real-life events that happened in her life. She answers the question of: How can one change so drastically in just a matter on months? On her search for self and beauty, she discovers the spiritual aspect of her journey, which changes everything she has ever known. She meets with a Guru in India and is taught how to embody the spiritual aspects of God. By the end of the book, she is practicing her faith in outward expressions and putting her full trust in God above.
