Nicole Voyles What is Real? 1/13/11

If everything in the real world is only a figment of our imaginations, what is really real? I have real trouble understanding this concept. Everything we see is simply a set or responses to visual stimuli, but they also have differences. I see red flowers in a field but someone who is red/green colorblind sees nothing. They are truly ignorant of the red in the world. They have no idea what they miss every day. Who is to say I don't miss things as well? What if a whole other world of colors and thins exists just outside of my perception? Is that how Plato and Aristotle viewed reality? That what is real is actually the Forms and not us blows my mind. Mind. Blown.
