Search for Beauty part 2: So since my technological search for beauty came up empty handed I decided to go on my own search for beauty in one of the prettiest places I can imagine (within walking distance of the school), the Noland Trail. I went out to the trail after our class and walked about a 1.5 miles in. I stopped at a small overlook and just listened to the music around me. Everything seemed to be in perfect balance. There were a few different birds singing and the leaves and grass were making little noises as different animals traipsed through the wilderness. It became this sort of predictable rhythm of the trail. Eventually I looked up and I noticed that the trees were even dancing to the rhythm. They would billow sporadically in the wind. It became the perfect example of action and reaction. The trees could even be considered partaking in a drama with the wind, pushing against the wind as the wind pushes back. Maybe I’m looking too much into this, but I definitely found some beauty in the dancing tree tops.
