Because the body and physical world by nature bind and limit the spirit, the spirit must overcome physicality as it seeks freedom and absorption in the divine. This process may take many lifetimes to accomplish (Malloy Ch. 5).You have to live and do outside of the body to absorb and be one with the spirit of the divine. Some people go there entire life seeking the pleasure of being or feeling apart of the spirit of the divine. The ultimate search is to be able to reach peace and tranquility outside of the body as if you were stepping outside of yourself. I interpret this as saying people can constantly search their entire lifetime and still not be able to attain that freedom in the divine. People can get bits and pieces of that freedom but they never get the full feeling. I do not think it takes many lifetimes to attain that freedom and absorption in the divine. If you indulge yourself in the word of the Lord and live your life according to his plan then you will attain that freedom in your afterlife in heaven. Living on Earth is like a test and if you pass then the freedom is yours if you don’t then I don’t believe you will get a second chance.
