Adam Rasmussen: Tracker School

My good friend Aaron Hackett has introduced to me the Tom Brown Jr. Tracking school which he attended last summer. He explained to me the magic that arises from being in nature and becoming one with nature. In the Tracker school you are taught to move like a native American scout, silently through the forest. You are taught to listen to the sounds and feel the energy of nature and allow it to guide you. I believe that there is a great beauty that can be found in nature. The vast expanse of different landscapes draw you in and inspire you. The beauty can be found in a sunset over a calm horizon or even in the worst storms of the Bering straight. The sheer power exhibited by nature and by mother earth can make a person feel tiny and insignificant, however it is possible to harness that power within yourself. People like the native Americans knew how to connect with the earth though nature and I feel like our society has lost that ability. We now live in concrete jungles and wear three-piece suits, far far away from our mother planet which has given life to us all. Tracker school gives you the ability to leave our modern world and re-connect with that natural power that exists in nature.
