Phenomenology is understanding based on past experience and knowledge. It is a concept that Van Der Leeuw talks about and is a good thing to think about. Beauty is not the same to everyone, but from a phenomenological approach it makes more sense. What is beautiful to me, is not beautiful to Van Der Leeuw, or other people.
